Trainer: – Dr. Fraser Dunford, Branch Indexing Project Co-Ordinator

Most of us have accessed a data base in search of whatever may interest us. In the case of genealogy research, it is most often a name that we are looking for. The Kawartha Branch Settler’s Sheet index has recently been added to The Ontario Name Index (TONI), a free database to access on the Ontario Ancestors website. When a name appears in the results – the researcher is provided with a location(s) to discover additional information. A copy of each Settler Sheet has been added to our “Members Only” section on our website.

Our current Branch Indexing Project is the Indexing of the 45+ years of Pedigree Sheets that have been submitted to the Branch. Our intention is to share the thousands of names with researchers by uploading the index to TONI and adding a copy of each Pedigree Sheet to our “Members Only” page as sections are completed.

We are offering this in-person training session to everyone who would like to test the waters to discover if indexing is something you would enjoy doing in the comfort of your own home, at your own pace.

Bring your computer and join us for the afternoon.

You do not need to be a member of Kawartha Branch to attend.

The more volunteers we have the quicker the project can progress.

We do have a handout to be sent out to attendees prior to the meeting.

We ask that you register for the meeting as soon as possible
